This Easy Paleo Coconut Macaroons recipe offers up a delightful treat that’s incredibly easy to make—all you need are three ingredients, 20 minutes, and an empty stomach! These coconut macaroons without condensed milk and sugar is naturally sweet and better for you.
Macaroons are often confused with macarons, and while they share similarities, they are two distinct types of pastries. Macaroons are sweet, dense cookies typically made with shredded coconut. In contrast, macarons are sandwich cookies with a creamy filling between two colorful rounds of meringue. [1] Both are made with egg whites, sugar, and are gluten-free.
To make our macaroons even healthier, we’ve skipped the sugar and use whole eggs in this Paleo treat. And instead of milk chocolate, we dip the cookies in melted cacao wafers. Cacao is rich in health benefits and has the power to decrease blood pressure, lower the risk of diabetes and heart disease, reduce inflammation, improve mood, enhance brain function, and even boost performance. [2] Talk about a super food!
Tips:
- Store leftovers in an airtight container to prevent them from getting soggy.
